The #1501X family of Flat File Renewal Flints is no longer manufactured. This product line became obsolete when the #3001X line was introduced. Years ago, it was necessary to offer a thinner file as a replacement flint for flat file lighters, as the flat files could not generate enough of a spark with a larger flint.
With the introduction of the proprietary SHURLITE file process, the files were improved to the point where it was no longer necessary to offer a special flint for flat file lighters. All single flint SHURLITE Lighters can now use the same replacement flint. Using a single flint size enabled us to lower prices due to the increased volumes of a single size flint.
